GEORGE MATTSON’s SUMMERFEST is a weekend of fun with old-school karatekas that I try to make whenever I can. The official SUMMERFEST is August 5-7 at the JunglePlex facility in Plymouth, MA. There will also be a special event Thursday the fourth at the same facility. As I understand it, four instructors (including me) will be available for full day seminars. A workshop for Yang’s Martial Arts Association on Friday, August 12th at 1800. Nick heard I was going to be in town and they’re my publishers and so... Should be fun. I want to cover self-defense law and then work at recovering under the the actual mechanics of an assault. So there will be a little taste of the new Logic of Violence material. SIGN UP HERE
Raffi Derderian’s New England Martial Arts Camp will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Warwick, RI on August 13. This should be fun. Raffi is a great guy and an amazing teacher (strange how often those two go together.) The official page is here.
