Oakland November 11-14

Hosted by Soja Studios

INFIGHTING

(My favorite thing)

An introduction to the basic skills of fighting at extremely close range-- strikes, takedowns, locks, gouges, structural manipulation.

Participants should have good control, be calm under pressure and have respectable breakfalls.

Wear comfortable clothing. You might want to think about mouthguards and groin protection. Just sayin'. And it doesn't hurt to work with a partner you trust. You might want to get a friend to sign up.

THREAT ASSESSMENT

• Threat factors in relationships

• Personal victim profile

• Threat displays

• Pre-assault indicators

• Elements of cold reading

People Watching

We'll spend the day looking at the world from a predator's point of view. You'll practice cold reading, intelligence gathering, exploiting architecture and terrain, stalking and working as a team. Very limited numbers on this one.

PlayDate

The Monday evening is a get-together for people who have trained with me before. Free, though donations are accepted. Participants guide the training. I'll pick someone, maybe at random and ask, "What do you want to work on?"

The pattern is question, brainstorm and then bang it out. You can ask about scenarios or fundamentals, learning, practice or teaching.

In the end, you have to become your own best teacher, which means we should all practice asking our best questions.
